Dr. Hallström has a broad spectrum of psychiatric experience, primarily providing general adult psychiatric services.
He does one-off assessments, offering advice and opinions. If long-term psychological therapy is required, then he often refers on to suitable therapists.
He does not take on in-patient work, and again, should patients require in-patient treatment, then he would make a referral to an appropriate treating psychiatrist, whom he would work alongside.
Dr. Hallström specialises in mood disorders, especially anxiety and the pharmacological treatment of anxiety.
He has a particular interest in medico-legal work, specialising in psychiatric assessment of parents, especially where substance misuse is involved. He carries out occupational health assessments, employment tribunal work and personal injury claims. He occasionally takes on criminal cases of interest and complexity. He also provides reports in medical negligence cases.
